Ötztal is one of the most varied Alpine biking destinations. With more than 850 kilometres of trails, riders of all levels will find exactly what they’re looking for. Leisure cyclists can follow gentle hut tours – with a plate of Kaiserschmarrn (torn pancakes) as a well-earned treat along the way. Flowing singletrack trails reward those seeking a technical challenge. Stronger riders can rack up elevation on demanding high-Alpine routes that demand stamina and focus and offer spectacular panoramas in return. 

Since 1997, the “Tiroler Mountainbikemodell” (Tyrolean Mountain Bike Model) has guaranteed legal riding on properly signposted trails – an advantage over many other Alpine regions.

Beginners will find well-maintained paths leading gently through the valley along the Ötztaler Ache. For more action, there are the natural singletracks or the lines of the Bike Republic Sölden.

The Natur- & Alpinhotel Post in Vent makes the perfect base camp for your mountain biking holiday. This mountaineering village, at 1,900 metres above sea level, is ringed by high-Alpine scenery and offers access to quiet, less-trodden trails. At these heights, you are more likely to see marmots on the paths than crowds.

After a long ride, unwind in our sauna village and or our indoor pool with a counter-current system. Then round off the day with dinner at Die Post – our inn established in 1728 – where you can savour regional specialities, including produce from the family’s own farm, the Weinleinshof.
