Where freedom reigns:
authentic mountaineering around Vent
Why is Vent so popular with alpinists from all over the world? Well, there are several reasons. Like the wild and unspoilt nature left in its natural state. The numerous 3,000m peaks and icy giants that majestically surround our mountaineering village. And last but not least, the authentic Vent charm that we’ve retained over the centuries. Real, pristine mountain air still flows through Vent. The wonder of traditional alpinism and love for the mountains are still in every fibre here.
Mountain adventures for everyone wanting to reach the highest heights
In the Ötztal mountains, you’ll find one 3,000m peak after another that beckon mountain fans to enjoy high-Alpine tours, challenging summit ascents, and spectacular glacier hikes. For example, there’s Ötzi’s discovery site, Mt Similaun (3,606m), and Mt Fineilspitze (3,514m). These can all be reached from Similaun mountain hut, which is run by our family. Another must for any alpinist’s tour book is 3,774m-high Mt Wildspitze: You can reach Austria’s second-highest mountain in seven hours from our hotel in Vent. Equally rewarding: the summit tour up Mt Wildes Mannle (3,023m).
