We’ve been welcoming guests here at our hotel in Vent for many years – since 1728, to be more precise, when the “Weinhof” was mentioned as a “Würthstaferne” (guesthouse or tavern) in a land register excerpt from Schlanders in South Tyrol. But its roots can be traced back even further, because the “Weinhof” was mentioned for the first time in written form in 1337, as one of four farmhouses in Vent. In 1867, it was then referred to in a travel account as a guesthouse in “Fend” (Vent) belonging to Johann Tappeiner – a direct ancestor of later owner Karolina Pirpamer, whose maiden name was Tappeiner. When the summer post office was opened in the Tappeiner guesthouse in 1903, the name was changed to “Gasthof Post”. Even a devastating fire on 4 August 1951 couldn’t stop the success story of our hotel in Vent: Alois and Karolina Pirpamer, the owners at that time, began rebuilding that same year. Finally, various renovation works carried out over the last decades and the handover to the next generation around Caroline and Gerhard with their sons Josef and Leonhard have seen Natur- & Alpinhotel Post transform into a 4-star hotel in Vent offering every comfort and exceptional service.
