Luis was a passionate mountaineer and mountain guide until old age. The former president of the mountaineers’ world association set out on guided tours nearly every day. For him mountaineering was not only a hobby; it was his life and, more importantly, a way of returning to his true self.

It is about coming face to face with the raw and untouched beauty of the great outdoors, about taking it all in. Our family have been the proud owners of this particular hotel in Tyrol – Natur- & Alpinhotel Post in Vent in the Ötztal Valley – for a long time. Genuine hospitality is a given at our accommodation in Austria. The guests of our hotel in Austria are just like family to us, not alone because they share our passion for the mountains. As hiking guides and experienced skiers we are happy to accompany our guests on guided hikes or ski tours. There are many ways to get to know this region, located in the hinterlands of the Ötztal valley: a hike to our private Similaun mountain hut, a tour to the place where Ötzi the iceman was found, or a day skiing in Vent ski resort or Sölden ski resort. There is not one dull minute in and around our hotel in Austria, on the contrary: here, each day is another brave new adventure!

In summer, hikers and mountaineers can head off to a variety of tours right outside our hotel in Tyrol. Experienced mountaineers explore the local via ferratas or glacier tours and hobby hikers or families with children choose some of the more leisurely strolls. In winter, our hotel in Tyrol is also a popular base for ski touring in Austria, because the region is known to be one of the best areas for this sport. Then there is Vent ski resort, located right outside our hotel in Tyrol, a great destination for hobby skiers and families. Alternatives are the two ski resorts Sölden and Obergurgl/Hochgurgl, not far from our hotel in Tyrol.
