Regional cuisine with heart

As nature awakens, so does the cuisine of Ötztal – get a taste of the fresh, seasonal creations our chef has in store for you!

Spring brings more than just a sea of blossoms and fresh greenery everywhere you look – it ushers in a cuisine buzzing with vibrant energy – delivered straight from the meadows and mountains to your table. At our restaurant “Die Post – Wirtshaus seit 1728”, we celebrate this time of year in the most delicious way: with a variety of flavourful, fresh, and regional ingredients. With her refined touch and deep love for Alpine cuisine, our head chef, Anna Pirpamer, creates gourmet experiences that capture the spirit of spring on every plate.

Our philosophy is simple: natural ingredients, honest craftsmanship, and a deep connection to Ötztal tradition. That’s why we use products from the local area – preferably straight from Weinleinshof Farm. This farm, whose history dates back to 1370, is still active today and is run by our relatives. The animal products are processed sustainably in the farm’s own butchery, guaranteeing freshness and quality.

We also work with select regional producers. Whether beef from Markus Pirpamer in Vent, dairy products from the Erlebnissennerei Zillertal dairy, or vegetables from the Rietzerhof farm in Telfs – we only serve you the best of Tyrol.

In spring, our cuisine becomes lighter and more colourful. Our seasonal highlights perfectly capture this time of year: hearty yet delicate cheese dumplings served with crisp, fresh salad, tender asparagus topped with a creamy sauce, or crisp potato rösti paired with home-smoked salmon trout and a kick of fresh horseradish. What’s for dessert, you ask? A refreshing strawberry sorbet – light, fruity, and delicious.
