Ski touring in Austria
Vent – starting point for Alpine adventures
Ski touring in the Austrian Alps – also known as Alpine skiing – is probably the most popular winter activity in the little mountaineering village Vent. No wonder, because the village offers great conditions to climb the mountains on skis. The silence, the high snow guarantee and the mighty peaks attract a great many ski-touring fans to this little idyll of a village. Not far from our hotel in Tyrol you find some of the most beautiful routes for backcountry skiing in the Ötztal Alps, offering a myriad of wonderful and unparalleled mountain adventures.
Famous routes for ski touring in the Austrian Ötztal valley are the Ötzal round tour or the ski tour to Mt. Wildspitze at 3,774 metres, the highest mountain in North Tyrol. Another popular ski-touring destination is our mountain hut Similaun. If you are experienced in this particular sport, well trained and a good skier, then you are ready to head off on your own and explore the ski-touring trails in and around Austrian Vent. Alternatively, many of our packages include guided ski tours with overnight stay in a mountain hut and ascent to the summit, such as Mt. Similaun at 3,606 metres.
Before embarking on your ski-touring adventures in Austrian Vent, you should find out about the current weather and avalanche situation. We are glad to recommend you an experienced mountain- or ski guide, who accompanies you on your individual ski tours.
