As you know, we love our homeland. And more especially, we our little village of Vent. We have compiled a few interesting facts about our home village for you: Vent is a tranquil alpine village that is part of the municipality of Sölden. It lies at an altitude of 1,895 metres and has about 140 inhabitants of which five are your hosts. In the summer months, 3,500 traveling furry residents come to visit when farmers from South Tyrol's Val Senales/Schnalstal drive their sheep to the Alpine pastures above Vent. The village was first mentioned in a document as early as 1241 under the name "Vende". That was 780 years ago! Since 2008, Vent has been allowed to officially call itself a mountaineering village. The villages united by the Initiative Bergsteigerdörfer (or the Mountaineering Villages initiative in English) are pioneers of alpinism in their regions.
