Do you miss the taste of the mountains?

Cook our bacon dumplings!

Yes, that’s the taste of Tyrol: rich, aromatic, and simply delicious.

Today we present a great classic of Tyrolean cuisine: bacon dumplings. For four people, you’ll need six bread rolls (preferably from the day before), 150ml of milk, four eggs, an onion, about two tablespoons of chopped chives, two tablespoons of flour, and some salt and pepper for seasoning.

First, cut the bread rolls into small cubes. Mix the eggs thoroughly with the milk, pour the mixture over the diced rolls, and let them rest for a while. Now cut the bacon into small cubes and finely dice the onion. Roast the bacon and onion in a hot pan with some oil or butter. Squeeze the excess liquid out of the bread mixture and put it in a bowl together with the fried bacon, the chives, and the flour. Mix all the ingredients together and season with salt and pepper to taste. Now form the dumplings and cook them in salted water for about 15 minutes. Serve the dumplings with cabbage salad. Enjoy your meal!

Of course, dumplings taste even better in the right atmosphere. For example in the ambiance of our cosy Post restaurant, after a long and exciting day of holiday in Austria. Winter is simply amazing here.
