The Grüner Veltliner
Grüner Veltliner: an excellent accompaniment to any dish
Want to know what to drink with a light salad or a rich gourmet dinner? Help is at hand: Grüner Veltliner – the all-rounder.
Did you know that the Grüner Veltliner is one of the most popular wines in our hotel in Tyrol? Not only is the grape autochthonous and the most important variety in Austria, it is also reputed to be an intriguing phenomenon which provides a broad spectrum of quality wines suitable for meat, fish, or vegetable dishes. Its primary flavours are lime, lemon, grapefruit, and white pepper which create a dry, acidic taste when young. Other flavours include peach and tobacco. Served ice-cold on a hot summer day, a light and zesty taste refreshes and purifies the palate. This young wine accompanies light salads very well, while more aged wines have a rich, nutty flavour and are often served with heavier dishes. Choosing a wine has never been easier with a sommelier to advise you. Are you a connoisseur, too? From light and zesty to rich and nutty, whatever you decide to eat, the choice is yours.
